FY18 Creative Placemaking Grant Deadline Extended To March 17

The FY2018 Creative Placemaking Grant deadline is extended until March 17, 2017, to encourage proposals from rural counties. The Tennessee Arts Commission is accepting Creative Placemaking Grant applications from local government or regional quasi-governmental entities (development district, human resource agency, etc.) or nonprofit organizations from any of the following designated rural counties:

Bedford, Benton, Bledsoe, Campbell, Cannon, Carroll, Cheatham, Chester, Claiborne, Clay, Cocke, Coffee, Crockett, Cumberland, Decatur, DeKalb, Dickson, Dyer, Fayette, Fentress, Franklin, Gibson, Giles, Grainger, Greene, Grundy, Hancock, Hardeman, Hardin, Hawkins, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Jackson, Jefferson, Johnson, Lake, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Marshall, Maury, McMinn, McNairy, Meigs, Monroe, Moore, Morgan, Obion, Overton, Perry, Pickett, Polk, Putnam, Rhea, Roane, Robertson, Scott, Sequatchie, Sevier, Smith, Stewart, Tipton, Trousdale, Unicoi, Union, Van Buren, Warren, Wayne, Weakley, White, and Wilson.

In Creative Placemaking, partners from public, private, nonprofit and community sectors strategically shape the physical and social character of their neighborhood, town, city, or region around arts and cultural activities or assets. The Creative Placemaking grant competition is designed to help build stronger communities through the arts to enhance the distinctive character of local Tennessee places for positive economic and community outcomes.

Those interested in submitting proposals are encouraged to read the Creative Placemaking guidelines and the list of previous Creative Placemaking awards published on the Commission’s website. The deadline for applications from designated rural counties for Creative Placemaking grants is Friday, March 17, 2017, by 11:59 p.m. (CST).
